Jan Řehola, Ph.D. is the founder and director of the Institute for Gambling Regulation (IPRH), an independent platform bringing together public authorities, researchers, experts and licensed gambling operators to improve dialogue, evidence-based policymaking and player protection. Originally established in the Czech Republic, the Institute has expanded its activities to Slovakia and Poland.

He has more than fifteen years of experience in gambling regulation across both the public and private sectors. Before founding IPRH, he served as Director of the Gambling Regulation Department at the Czech Ministry of Finance and represented the Czech Republic in international regulatory forums, including the European Commission Expert Group on Online Gambling, IAGR and GREF.

At IPRH, Jan leads the development of IRIS, a pioneering cross-operator Single Customer View initiative designed to identify gambling-related risk across multiple operators rather than within a single operator’s ecosystem. The project is being developed towards a broader model in which shared risk identification can be followed by independent, evidence-based player interventions.

His work focuses on the future of gambling regulation, responsible gambling, harm prevention, cross-sector collaboration and the use of data and technology to improve regulatory outcomes. He regularly speaks at international conferences and contributes to professional publications and policy discussions across Europe.

Jan holds a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague, where his doctoral research focused on the financial aspects of gambling regulation.
