Despite widespread adoption, visibility into operators’ AI approaches is severely lacking and there are currently no comprehensive policies to guide the growing use of its capabilities. This raises a number of ethical concerns around the implementation of advanced technology like facial recognition and behaviour detection systems. Two of the major challenges are accuracy and the potential for bias, given that the algorithms that power them are trained on vast amounts of data, which can inadvertently contain shortcomings by their human inputs. This session explores the KYC, ID verification and false flag challenges of using AI for player protection and promoting responsible gaming.
