The National Council on Problem Gambling (US) is the only national organization addressing problem gambling in the US. Its National Conference on Gambling Addiction and Responsible Gambling is the oldest and largest annual event of its kind. NCPG and its state chapters lead awareness and advocacy efforts to reduce gambling harm.
The US gambling landscape is very different from the UK and Europe. There is no federal funding for health insurance, problem gambling prevention, treatment or research, and no federal oversight of gambling regulations. Vendors and operators who want to work in the US should partner with NCPG to learn about and support responsible gambling in the 50 state markets and 200+ tribal markets in the country. Regulators will notice this highly visible CSR good-faith effort which will also provide broader and deeper information beyond just ‘business’ that will nevertheless affect the bottom line.
