Hon. Brantley is a lawyer, educated at the University of the West Indies – Cave Hill Campus (1992), the Norman Manley Law School (1994) and the University of Oxford (1995). He was called to the St. Kitts-Nevis Bar in 1994, has practiced extensively and is a member of several Bars and international professional associations. He is the Senior Partner of Daniel Brantley but has taken a sabbatical to pursue his career as a politician.

His political career started in 2006, and he is currently the Premier of Nevis for a second consecutive term and Leader of the Opposition in St. Kitts-Nevis.
