Clarion Gaming has demonstrated a commitment to help stakeholders take advantage of new vertical markets following the appointment of William Harding to the newly created post of Head of Esports. Harding who will work across the Clarion Gaming portfolio retaining a sharp focus on the ICE brand, joins with a wealth of esports experience having previously worked with Red Bull where he promoted The Sphere, the UK’s largest esports studio based in Shoreditch, east London and before that with Twitch the world's leading live streaming platform for gamers. An esports industry professional, Harding has been at the vanguard of a sector which according to the Newzoo analyst group is projected to generate media and sponsorship revenues totalling in excess of $1bn during 2019.
Reflecting on his new role, he said: “Personally, it’s a great opportunity joining the team at Clarion Gaming. The chance to move across from my role at Red Bull is a testament not only to the exponential growth of and acceptance of esports but also to the forward think and progressive outlook shown by Clarion which is very much on the front foot in terms of identifying those trends which can be transformative for its customers based throughout the world.
"There are fantastic opportunities for the esports and gambling sectors to work alongside each other and my role is to help bring those relationships to fruition using the commercial arenas that have been created by Clarion, not least ICE London which is the international hub of B2B gaming. There’s no doubt this is a fantastic time to be part of an energetic team which is constantly looking forward. ”
